It is a beautiful day for our citywide StoryWalk® Passport Challenge! Families: head to Hubbard Park, Linear Trail/Dossin Beach, Habershon Park, Meriden Green, or City Park to collect your Passport and begin your journey. Kids can read fun stories, enjoy time outdoors, and win prizes! The event runs TODAY from 9am-12pm.
Visit meridenkiwanis.org/storywalkchallenge for details!
Have you stopped to read our StoryWalks yet? Kiwanians have installed five StoryWalks at Hubbard Park, Habershon Park, the Meriden Green, and City Park for families to read together while enjoying time in nature. And coming this week: the first story in our *new* permanent StoryWalk installation at the Linear Trail!
Meriden students participating in Office of Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut State Library's "Read, Renew, Repeat" Summer Reading Challenge can earn credit in their Reading Journal for reading one of our StoryWalks!
And don't miss our *free* StoryWalk® Passport Challenge event this Saturday, July 20 from 9am-12pm! Learn more at meridenkiwanis.org/storywalkchallenge.
Oh dear Kiwanis, as a former member, I think this is so out of place in our parks. Why oh why?? We are fortunate to have acres of beautiful parks. Please I beg everyone to STOP putting...."stuff" in our natural spaces. Instead encourage, teach and show the children respect for our parks and nature. As a daily walker on the trail at Hanover, those story posts have ruined it for me. After 30 years of daily walks there, I no longer do.....and whoever approved this mess...what the h.... were you thinking??
